Security Officer - Retail Store Patrol

As a Security Officer - Retail Store Patrol in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, assist with access control, and respond to calls for service. You will support shoppers, tenants, and staff with strong customer service and clear communication, while using Allied Universal teamwork, integrity, and an agile, reliable, innovative approach to daily operations.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and store staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail mall location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with disturbances, medical calls, and reporting suspicious activity per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior common areas, exterior entrances, corridors, stairwells, and parking areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or operational concerns.
• Monitor access points and public areas, assist with directions and tenant support requests, and communicate with mall management and local responders as directed by site procedures.
• Prepare clear, timely documentation such as incident reports, daily activity logs, and observations, and notify Allied Universal supervision and site contacts of notable events per policy.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 1+ years of security experience.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Being able to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
