Site Requirements:

  • 21 + Years of Age. EMR License to work in Illinois (Emergency Responder Training)
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License Required
  • Must Be Comfortable Standing, Walking and Working Outdoors
  • Previous Security Experience a plus.
  • Current CPR Certification a plus.
  • Comfortable Using a Computer or Tablet
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs

Available Shcedule: 12 hour days - work a week / off a week

Allied Universal Services is seeking the position of a Security-EMR.

The Security-EMR. is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. The Security-EMR. acts as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions, as well as detects and reports suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts, which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.

Job Duties:

A Lieutenant is a supervisor of the shipping/receiving gates as well as the dispatch gate. Member will be cross trained on dispatch and gate guard duties.

Must be at minimum EMR (first responder) trained. The individual will be responding to all EMS, Security, and Fire calls. Will be trained on properly checking fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, fixed systems, and AED's with the use of a scanner. The individual will be trained on how to write a confined space permit as well as a fire permit. The individual will also be expected to conduct roving patrols of the facility as well as delivering mail within the facility.

A Emergency Medical Responder-Security Officer is a healthcare provider at the most basic level of prehospital medicine. They are the first person to arrive at the scene of an accident or emergency at our clients site, and they provide lifesaving treatment until more advanced medical help arrives.Fire experience is preferred, not requiredas all Allied Universal Security Officer-EMR respond to all fire calls. (Basic fire training provided by AUS)

Any individual hired by Allied Universal as a EMR Security Officer must also complete the following:

  • A class to get an explosives license (AUS paid license-required).
  • Training for ropes/knots and confined space training (AUS Provided)
  • Training in how to write fire permits and confined space entry permits (AUS Provided)
  • Be fit tested to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer first aid treatment and other emergency care to sick or injured persons and assist with facilitating the transport to medical facilities.
  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Respond to emergency calls from a dispatcher such as requests for medical assistance following emergency response proceedings
  • Provide emergency medical care and other treatment pursuant to EMR certification
  • Determine the nature and extent of illness and injury
  • Report all medical incidents, accidents or emergencies to include completing a Daily Activity Log on every shift, describing all activities.
  • Complete an Incident Report documenting any medical response calls on client property
  • Establish priorities in order to determine procedures to be followed for emergency first aid or assistance; request additional help, including special rescue and utility services
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

  • Health License as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher
  • Must have current CPR/AED Certification
  • Must pass physical and Fit Test required for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
  • Must obtain and maintain annual Hazardous Materials Technician Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120)
  • Must obtain and maintain annual Confined Space and Rope Rescue Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146)
  • Must possess or be able to obtain any additional state requirements for a firefighter EMT
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Driving Positions: must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.

  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Safely respond to emergency incidents, fight fires, mitigate hazardous material incidents, rescue trapped persons in confined spaces, and administer basic life support (BLS) treatment.
  • Able to perform firefighting duties including advancing hose lines, fire apparatus pump operations, safely operate power tools, climb ladders, and wear firefighter protective gear including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) weighing approximately 70 pounds.
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 80 pounds
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
